Power Division Overview:
The Power Division specializes in the applications of electrochemistry. Our division is responsible for researching, designing, and building a battery from lab materials. Our goals for the battery are that it must be safe to handle, environmentally friendly and provide sufficient energy to power the car motor during the competition. Metal-air batteries as well as thermally powered batteries are the current team’s focus.
Current Design and Next Steps:
We have made significant progress in testing metal-air batteries and are currently refining their design for better performance and safety. We’re also exploring thermally powered batteries as our next research project. Our next steps involve optimizing energy output, testing with different materials and running real-world tests to ensure durability under competitive conditions.
